WWII German M18 Transitional Single Decal Heer Helmet Stahlhelm

WWII German M18 Transitional Single Decal Heer Helmet Stahlhelm. The helmet is in excellent condition, retaining a nice, clean early decal, an updated intact M1931 liner, and a partially intact chinstrap as photographed. The helmet is named and initialed in some spots. Paint is still present all over the helmet. Nice early transitional piece that has a great history behind it. 

History:  These helmets are truly just repurposed and upgraded WWI German Stahlhelms of the M16, M17, and M18 style. Most were repainted, refitted with new liners, and, depending upon the government, that being the Weimar or NSDAP, refitted with new decals as well.  These Helmets served as a vital bridge before and during the production of the standard WWII M35 helmet, with there being dozens of early war photos of soldiers equipped with them on the front lines. Later on in the war, they are more commonly seen with rear echelon troops, police, and other civic authorities.
