Rare USN Naval Medical Officers Line Captain Tunic/Frock with Shoulder Boards

Rare 1880s/Indian Wars USN Naval Medical Officers Line Captain Tunic/Frock with Shoulder Boards. The maroon-colored velvet on the sleeves indicates this as a medical officer, and the sleeve nbullion puts him at the rank of captain. The bullion shoulder boards are solid construction and have a clasp to hold them to the uniform. The tunic is in amazing shape, showing very little wear and proving to have held up to the test of time. All buttons are present, and there is no damage to the tunic whatsoever. Boards are the same way, with the only damage being that one of the clasps has come loose due to wear and age of the leather. Overall, this is a truly amazing and rare piece that isn't seen very often, especially with such a high rank and branch.
